Hafthor Bjornsson set a world record in the deadlift on Saturday, hoisting 501 kilograms (1104.52 pounds).
The 31-year-old set the record in his native Iceland.
Known as "Thor," the 6-foot-9, 425-pound Bjornsson broke the previous record of 500 kilograms (1,102.31 pounds), set by England's Eddie Hall in 2016.
Bjornsson is best known for his role as "The Mountain" Gregor Clegane in the HBO series "Game of Thrones."
He won the World's Strongest Man competition in 2018 and has finished third or better every year since 2012.

Ahead of the lift, Thor said:
“I knew I was in great shape, and when you’re trying to train yourself for something big like that, it’s very difficult on the body. So I thought of just hosting a show. If we could stream it live, people would love that, they could be excited for something.
When things get a lot of attention, there’s always going to be some negativity. People are saying that this needs to be done in a competition – I wish I could do it in a competition, but I can’t control this situation, so I’m trying to do the best I can.”
